It Just Keeps Happening

Welcome To The Void Meme
Stop what you're doing!
No, really. Stop what you're doing. Put the pause on that tire fire you call your life. No, don't un-pause it. Leave the pause on.
Where you are now is not where you were before. The details are...vague. The details are always, often, rather vague. A place that's similar, or not. Fantasy Costco down the hall, the Voidfish in the basement. The calm waves of a never ending void somewhere off a while, and inches to the left. And everywhere else. And tapping on your shoulder. It's fine, just don't talk to it.
You're here now. You're here now. You're here now.
A lot of you are here now. A lot of.... you, are here now.
Might as well have fun with that.
[ooc: a general mingle to start us off! Doubles welcome and encourage. Only TAZ characters (canon-only) to start! Post your character's name and relevant aus/craus in the headers!)

So check it, there's a tall, dark, and handsome man in a big black cloak wandering about, keeping his eyes open for people he knows and absentmindedly fiddling with just about anything that isn't tied to the ground. He's not really taking anything, just. Passing the time.
Don't startle him too much unless you want a face full of skeleton. Unless, like, that's your thing.]
no subject
Howdy, stranger.
[If he startles him, that certainly wasn't his intention, oh no, you'll never catch Taako doing that on purpose.]
no subject
Regardless, Kravitz rolled a terrible perception roll so he's rather preoccupied until he feels the Umbra Staff somewhere in his spine, causing him to stiffen for just a second before leisurely looking over his shoulder.]
Oh, hello. I hope I didn't disturb your office, man I absolutely don't recognize.
[He turns, a sly sort of smile gracing his features.]
Is there something I can help you with?
no subject
[He spins said Umbra Staff once and then leans on it smoothly, smirking at Kravitz in a way that betrays his familiarity.]
But yeah, sure, you know, there is something I hope you can help me with. I've misplaced my boyfriend, you see. The Bureau being as crowded as it is these days, I just turned around and, you know, there he wasn't. Can't miss him, he's got... [He counts off on his fingers.] no skin, glowing red eyes, this really spooky scythe... Oh, and Schrodinger's accent. The accent that reality forgot.
no subject
[He holds up his hands fake-defensively, grin still all too present on his face and betraying any lies he may still be bold-facedly telling.]
Well, I'd say it'd be awfully hard to lose someone without skin. Sounds like they'd be fairly easy to spot in a crowd, at least. Though I'm sure he'd be flattered to hear you looking so tirelessly for him.
[He feels like he could break this right now, but it's a little more fun to let Taako keep going.]
is it still gay chicken when theyre both gay and dating
[Taako closes some distance between them and props up his elbow on Kravitz's shoulder in a clearly overfamiliar way for a stranger to be acting. The brim of his wide hat rests on Kravitz's head as Taako leans in real close, as if he's inspecting Kravitz's face very carefully, investigating every feature and eyeing every mark.]
You know... Funny, I think, if he had skin, he might look a little like you. Hm...
[He runs his finger down Kravitz's nose.]
Nose is not as distinguished, though. Or is it? I don't know, shit's all cartilage and the man's all bone, so who can say?
gay skeleton chicken
[He lets Taako into his space willingly, leaning just a bit forward, grin still ever-present.]
Well, now, that almost seems like you're flirting with me. You think your boyfriend would be so accepting of your eyes drifting to another man? You might break his skeletal, and therefore nonexistent, heart.
[It's distracting, now that Taako is so close, to feel how alive his body is against his; the wisps of air from his breath, the warmth of his fingers, the subtle heat off his forehead, when Kravitz stands like a statue, possessing none of those traits. It's always fascinating to have him this close. But that's hardly important at the moment, despite it being the thing he finds himself paying attention to.]
Unless I've just got that impressive of a nose.
no subject
[Taako leans in even closer, face barely an inch from Kravitz's, lips hovering mere centimeters apart. He pulls his hat off slowly, getting it out of the way, distance nearly closed, free fingers playing with Kravitz's long hair... He halts the moment before, stretching it as wide as possible, and though Kravitz's body holds no heat, Taako is sure he can feel the chill in his projected veins radiating off him in waves, in a way that's unsettlingly enticing...
And then he smushes his hat straight into Kravitz's face, and Kravitz can't see but he probably knows Taako breaks into a wide, shit-eating grin.]
On second thought, I think I am more into dudes without skin. Way less complicated, and what can I say? I like a man whose ribcage I can reach into. Just really get deep in there. Just, just really dig into the thing. I have a thing for guys who keep up the neighbors with xylophone noises. Sorry, my man, but you just don't measure up.
no subject
Regardless, Kravitz emits the most undignified snort of laughter directly into Taako's hat, and just to complete the stupidity train, the hat gets pulled away to revea; the piercing red eyes and Kravitz' actual skeletal face.]
Well, forgive me for disappointing in any way. Then again, of all people, I know how hard it is to please you.
[He pushes the hat back into Taako's chest and slightly down, taking the opportunity to breech the gap between them and gain a little height.]
And here I thought you wanted me handsome.
no subject
He streeeetches and leans back, away from Kravitz, hovering near him for a few more seconds before he breaks away, wandering over to Leon's tome of magical artifacts, left open on the desk. He thumbs through a few pages idly, looking bored through the hint of a grin.]
There's my boy. Wondered when you'd show up and really start the party. Think I'm too tired to dance now, though. Spent all my time hooking up with this real tall, dark, and handsome fella.
no subject
Really? Wore yourself out with someone else? Taako, giving up on me so soon?
no subject
Maybe I'm waiting for you to really cinch it. Really get the clutch in there. You've got the look down, yeah, but where's the hook? Where's that sweet hook?
[All said with a knowing smile on his face and a creeping finger to hook into one of Kravitz's belt loops. Taako knows exactly what he's doing.]
no subject
Regardless, he reaches a skeletal hand to cup Taako's cheek, not bothering with putting the glamour of his skin back on as it drags over his face, rough against Taako's skin.]
Then you'll just have to be more specific, now won't you? Or am I expected to be a mind reader in addition to a reaper?
[Their faces are close again, impossibly so, but there's only Kravitz' piercing red eyes through the skull to be seen now.]
Maybe you're lucky I have good intuition.

And who the hell invited you to show up and paw through all our moon base stuff? Grim reapers don't know what "top secret" means?
ACCEPTS IT EAGARLY
Probably the same thing that invited you to be stuck here pawing through your own 'moon base stuff'. This isn't the first time I've been up here, you know.

His dander's definitely more up than down, but it'll probably be quick enough to settle eventually. ]
Since when? They don't exactly give tours of the place. And you don't make much of a quiet entrance yourself.
no subject
Don't I? I'm perfectly capable of being quiet when I choose to be. Besides, people can die here. I have a job I could be doing that isn't necessarily dragging you to the Astral Plane.
no subject
Yeah, yeah, more gods to impersonate, more souls to pick up. [ He's not even really salty about the arm thing except in how he can rag on Magnus for it. That Pan stuff sure cuts deep, though, especially these days. ]
If you think you're here for our friendly ass-kicking robot, you're gonna have to wait out alllll the red tape. Not that she's actually around right now anyway.
no subject
No, I am not here for her, though I'm sure there would be little you could do to stop me if I was, considering the terms of the bargain I made with you all.
Regardless, I am allowed to be here, as are you. What are you going to do about it?
no subject
Well. Comin' over here was about as far as my plans went. Is there something I'm supposed to do about it? I don't have any angel of death guidebooks on me. What I do have is a few Pan chic tracts. Maybe some booze? I haven't checked out the ol' inventory in a while.
[ MERLE THIS ISN'T HOW LOOKING COOL WORKS, AT ALL. ]
no subject
I have all the knowledge on the gods as I'm ever going to need, seeing as I've been in service of one for many years. But I could do with a good drink, if there's somewhere on the base you'd recommend.
no subject
I'd normally ask Avi, but he's not really around, either. Ah, there's all kinds of places to check out, though. Wine place, breakroom, the spa. Fantasy Costco might have something worth pickin' up. You know, an awful lot of funding winds up in wine up here.
no subject
[Spoiler alert, that's where most of his funding goes, too. Don't even get started on 'but you're dead' or 'can you even drink it' because shut up, buddy, if there's anything he was gonna find out how to do after death it was get drunk with no consequences.]
Though do you really want to go somewhere so quiet and out of the way with me, considering you previous hangups? Though I can assure you, if I had any interest in dragging your soul back to the Astral Plane, I would have done so already before you made an attempt at insults.
no subject
[ Bring Merle your hungry, your poor. Your servants of death looking to get wasted. He starts waddling towards the nearest location he remembers seeing alcohol in. ]
Anyway, you can't take two steps without seeing someone looting or touching all our stuff. I'm no trust-junkie and I don't care about going off-grid, but I think I can play my odds.
[ Kravitz: makes a valid point about how if he were here to collect, he would've already.
Merle: pretends that has nothing to do with it. ]
no subject
Alright, then, your attempt at insulting me, noted. Trust me, I've heard them all. No escaped souls like to be taken in, so I've heard a grand number of attempts to hurt my feelings.
[Besides, all things considered, Kravitz would say he has the upper hand on Merle.]
